Limbo
So I feel like I’m floating around in fashion limbo right now.
My beautiful ASOS skirt never arrived (it’s been a month since I ordered it) and I’m waiting for them to get back to me with more information. My Topshop order hasn’t been shipped out yet (it’s been over a week since I ordered it) although they have charged my card. Is there something funny going on in the UK? Other online orders I’m waiting on are some books from Amazon (expected delivery date is a whole month from date of shipment?!) and my new polka dotted dress from Etsy (which I only bought a few days ago).
Online shopping sure is fun but when your parcels don’t arrive on time (or ever) it’s very disheartening!
I have run out of coathangers! A few years ago I bought 45 wooden coathangers (not including skirt/pants hangers) when I was changing from metal - and I have run out in a serious way! I will pick some more up in the next few days but I’m starting to get very concerned over where I will actually put them because I have no room in my cupboard as it is. I don’t really want to get rid of anything, either. There are a few pieces I don’t wear but I do want to keep them. I’m scared if I pull them out of the cupboard and put them into ’storage’ I’ll forget about them. Out of sight out of mind, right?
Lastly, I am feeling very silly over the amount of bright coral coloured tops sneaking their way into my wardrobe. I just bought my fourth, and there is a mere 1 or 2 shade difference between it and the others I already have! Oh well, I guess they match my hair…!

Alicia, the wooden coat hangers in Ikea are very good - I recommend those. They are nice and smooth and the ends (where the shoulder part of the garment sits) are nice and round. I have found that with the cheaper variety you find in el-cheapo stores that some are not properly laquered and the ends have hard edges/corners which damage delicate garments.
I use these Ikea ones for jackets only. For all other garments I use the Ikea plastic hangers as I find that the wooden ones take up too much (valuable) space!
I need wooden coathangers, desperately!
Also, because of the shipping and waiting…thats why i stay away from online shopping, im way too impatient!
Thanks Collector - I’ve already invested 45 wooden hangers I dont think I could bare the expense of changing over to something else, now! Do you find with the plastic hangers that the edges mishape the shoulders of your tops? That’s what I found with the wire hangers I was using which was the primary reason for changing. I’ll definately check out the ones from Ikea!
Tea - I’ve never had to wait this long before, it’s just drained all the fun out!
Alicia, the plastic ones from ikea have a very unsual shape. The hanger bit is completely rounded so no edges to mishape your clothes.
They aren’t good for everything though - like I said I still use the wooden ones for jackets.
Good luck.
